At 1222 hours, Company 1 was dispatched along with other Calvert & Charles County units to the 4000 block of Cortona Drive for the reported house on fire. Tower 1 was dispatched on the initial alarm and Engine 12 was sent on the Working Fire Dispatch.

Tower 1 was the 2nd arriving truck and assisted with overhaul and hitting hot spots. Engine 12 was designated the fill site engine. Their task was filling tankers from the hydrant at Station 7 to provide water for fireground operations. 

Units returned to service around 1600 hours. We offer our condolences to the family affected by this tragedy.
