Last night at 1815 hours, Brush 1 & UTV 1 were alerted mutual aid to Prince George’s County for the multi-acre brush fire. Company 1 responded with 5 volunteers to the incident. Upon arrival, Brush 1 and UTV 1 went right to work extinguishing the large brush fire, which was at least 6 acres. Prince George’s County Police helicopter, the Guardian, was in the air during the brush fire providing command real time updates from eyes in the sky. Both Company 1 units cleared the fireground around 2130 hours.

This brush fire had units from Prince George’s County, Charles County, Anne Arundel County, Calvert County, MD DNR Forestry, and Prince George’s County Police working together. It shows once again how vital mutual aid is in our region for all counties.

As a reminder, our entire region is still under an enhanced fire danger risk. Please remember to not do any open burning and to extinguish all cigarettes immediately.
