On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the NBVFD welcomed a group of former members as part of the run up to the department’s 100th anniversary in 2026. 18 former and still active members from as far away as Westminster (MD) gathered for an evening of memories, a meal, and camaraderie.

Part of the evening included living history recordings of all in attendance to give the community and the current membership a window into what life and the NBVFD were like from 1958 forward. The recordings will go into the department’s archives for use in the publication of a department history, and be featured on the department’s social media in the future.

Several of the members brought pieces of their family’s history with the department including photos and memorabilia. We were honored to have spent some time with them and capture their memories as part of compiling the history of our nearly 100 year old organization.
