Busy Weekend at the Twin Beaches

Co. 1 and our response partners have logged a diverse number of calls, making this first weekend in October memorable.

On Saturday, October 5, Co. 1, and Co. 5 were dispatched at 9 a.m. for a reported serious motor vehicle collision in the 9100blk of Boyds Turn Road. Arriving crews found an overturned vehicle with significant damage to the roof. Fortunately, both occupants escaped without injury.

On Saturday, October 5, Co. 1 was dispatched as part of the assignment to Area Box 601 (Huntingtown’s area). A fire was reported in the 200blk. of Still Water Lane. The call turned out to be an oven fire confined to the oven. Co. 6 handled the call and Co. 1 (engine and tower) returned to quarters.

On Sunday, October 6, Co. 1 was dispatched to Fishing Creek beyond Abner’s Crab House for a fuel spill on the water. Arriving crews found diesel fuel leaking from a vessel on land. Crews contained the spill with absorbent and booms. Maryland Department of the Environment was contacted.

In addition, the Calvert EMS crew assigned to PA219, and the volunteers on A18 have run seven EMS calls for a varying range of community emergencies.
