At 0647 hours Calvert County Emergency Communications alerted Company 1, Company 6, Calvert EMS, and the Calvert Sheriff’s Office for the report of a work truck with a trailer flipped on its side and one victim unconscious in the area of Bayside Road and Christiana Parran Road.

Squad 1(Lt. B. Callis), Engine 11(Sgt. J. Sullivan), PA219 (PMIC Martin), Safety 1(C. Mills), and Chief 1(S. Stanton) responded to the call. Safety 1 arrived on scene to find as reported but the patient conscious and alert with another co-worker still in the truck. Safety 1 established command.

Squad 1 arrived on location, quickly removed the windshield and assisted both patients out of the vehicle. The incident was scaled back to holding Company 1 units and A69 for the possible second patient, who denied transport. PA219 transported one patient to a local trauma center.

Safety 1 terminated command once all patients were assessed and/or transported.
