At 1903 hours, Companies 1, 5, 6, PA219, EMS 20 and CCSO were dispatched to the area of 13th Street & Bayside Road for the serious auto accident with reported entrapment. Squad 1, Engine 11, Engine 12, Ambulance 18, Paramedic Ambulance 219, Chief 1, Chief 1A and Chief 1B responded with a total of 27 volunteers. Chief 1 arrived on location, established command, and confirmed the entrapment of two occupants. Squad 1 arrived and started to rapidly extricate the two heavily entrapped patients using Holmatro hydraulic and battery powered tools.

E12 and E11 assisted with a charged hose line in place as well as assisting Squad 1 throughout the entire extrication.

One patient was transported to Calvert Health by Paramedic Ambulance 219 and the second went to an area trauma center via Maryland State Police Trooper 2.

The CCSO is currently investigating this accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
